Contributors
The contributors form is where you can record the contribution of anyone who does not received a union contract for their contribution to the programme. If they receive a union contract they must be recorded as an artist. If you are unsure, refer to Artist vs. Contributor.
Adding a Contributor
When adding a contributor you can either search for an existing contributor using their National Insurance number, name or date of birth or you can provide their details in the Add Contributor section.
Searching
Simply enter the search data into the Contributor Search and click Search. If you look for a National Insurance number and there is a match, the form will return with the individuals details loaded in the Add Contributor section ready for you to provide the details and add them as a contributor. If you search using a name or date of birth, the form will (if anyone is found matching the criteria) return with a list of matches.
To select the required individual simply click the selector in the corresponding row. The form will then populate the Add Contributor section ready for you to provide the details and add them as a contributor.
Contribution
Select the contribution made by the individual to the programme. If the individual is the director and you do not know their National Insurance number you can record them here but if you do know their National Insurance number you should record them as an artist section. If you are unsure, refer to Artist vs. Contributor.
Editing a Contributor
If you need to edit a contributor, simply click the edit icon in their corresponding list row. Their details will be loaded into the edit form allowing you to make any required adjustments. When you've made the necessary changes click Save.
Deleting a Contributor
If you need to completely remove a contributor from a programme/series then you can click their delete icon. You will be asked to confirm their deletion as shown below.
Adding Contributors To Episodes
For series, it is necessary to provide information about which episodes each contributor contributes to. To do this, open the Contributors folder in the series and then select the Add Episodes option. A form that looks something like the one shown below will be presented to you.
The form provides two lists, Contributors and Episodes, contributors are linked to episodes by selecting the contributors and episodes in the list and clicking Save. If you select two contributors and three episodes, the two contributors will each be linked to the three selected episodes. For your convenience, the form provides Select All and De-select All options at the bottom of the form as shown below.
Removing Contributors From Episodes
If you need to remove a contributor from a series episode, open the Contributors folder in the series and then select the Delete Episodes option. A form that looks something like the one shown below will be presented to you.
The first stage is to select the contributor you wish to remove from episodes by clicking their select icon. The form will reload with a list of episodes the contributor is linked to as shown below.
To remove the contributor from an episode, simply click the delete icon for the episode. You will be asked to confirm the deletion.
You will notice that some episodes are marked as Received. These episodes have been completed and the contributor cannot be removed from them. If you need to remove them, you should contact S4C. It may be possible to have the contributors list for the episode be returned to you for editing.
Completing A Contributor List
It is necessary to mark contributor lists as completed. For a single programme, the complete button will be available on the main Contributors page. For series, the Add Episode page is used.
To complete the contributor list for an episode, open the contributors Add Episode page. Select the episode you would like to complete in the episodes list and click Complete.
Before completing you should ensure that the programme/episode has both a Producer and Director. If you complete with out these, the forms will be refused by S4C staff.
